Album de la semaine : Blood Of The Nations de Accept

On ne savait pas trop à quoi s'attendre de ce nouvel album d'Accept. Après 14 ans depuis le dernier album et sans Udo Dirkschneider au chant, le scepticisme était de mise. Et bien les sceptiques ont été confondus. Comme l'annonçait le premier extrait de l'album, Teutonic Terror, un classique instantané, nous avons droit à un album d'une très grande qualité. L'arrivé de Mark Tornillo au chant semble avoir fouetté les troupes. La production de Andy Sneap est impécable. Un album qui ne contiens pratiquement pas de failles, tout ce qu'on aime d'Accept est présent. Les riffs accrocheurs, les refrains épiques et une énergie contagieuse font de cet album un incontournable de l'année 2010. Que ce soit le dynamisme de Beat The Bastards, la puissance de Teutonic Terror, le refrain épique de la pièce titre, la pesanteur de Shades of Death ou la brutalité de Bucket Full Of Hate, toute les émotions y passent. Le seul moment de répis surviens lors de Kill The Pain, une power ballade efficace qui nous permet de reprendre notre souffle avant le dernier droit de l'album. Bref, un album à écouter pour tout amateur de metal si ce n'est déjà fait. Ma cote, un 10/10.

Album de la semaine : Abrahadabra de Dimmu Borgir

Album très attendu cette année, Abrahadabra, le dernier album de Dimmu Borgir. Un retour après une année mouvementée notamment avec le congédiement de Mustis et ICS Vortex, qui n'ont pas été remplacé depuis. C'est en effet avec une formation réduite à Shagrath, Silenoz et Galder que Dimmu nous reviens. Snowy Shaw était à bord lors de l'enregistrement de l'album mais a quitté un peu avant la parution de l'album.

L'album en lui même est assez intéressant, mais manque de constance. Certaines pièces sont très réussie, comme Born Treacherous avec ces mélodies puissantes, Gateways qui nous propose du vocal féminin très réussi, Dimmu Borgir qui nous rappelle l'époque Enthrone et The Demiurge Molecule avec sa pesanteur morbide. Par contre, les autres pièces sont moins intéressante, sans parler du cover de Perfect Stranger de Deep Purple qui détonne comme c'est pas possible. Autre coté positif, la présence d'un véritable orchestre symphonique qui donne une touche épique à l'album. Coté production, comme le veux chaque album de Dimmu Borgir, c'est impécable. Bref, un album inégal, mais qui vaut la peine d'être écouté. Ma cote, un 7/10.
